When using the <img> tag on your website, consider the following best practices:

    • Use descriptive alt text to provide meaningful information about the image.
    • Optimize your images for web use to improve page loading times. You don’t need high DPI for web images. 72 DPI works fine. Select a standard image size for your site to provide visual continuity as well. Next…
    • Use appropriate image formats (JPEG, PNG, GIF) based on the type of image and the level of detail required. Nobody likes blurry images, or pictures that are not viewable on a mobile phone. 
    • Specify the dimensions (width and height) of the image to prevent layout shifts as the image loads.
